Diablo and Sloth had quite an adventure for their elopement, spanning time in both Yosemite and Death Valley National Parks. They had decided just a few weeks prior to come get married in Yosemite, and upon their arrival in The States from Great Britain, Yosemite was undergoing massive storms. Yosemite actually closed for a few days with power going out to the park for over a week. Diablo and Sloth being adventurous as they are, were open to my suggestion that maybe since we couldn´t get in Yosemite to do their pictures, we could meet somewhere else that´s also gorgeous. They were planning on also going to Death Valley, and the weather looked much more favorable, so we met there and wow am I glad we did. We got some amazing pictures, that really capture Diablo and Sloth´s amazing character.

Last week I shot a beautiful engagement shoot up in one of my favorite places on earth, Tuolumne Meadows. I´ve known Keith for thirteen years, and when he told me a few months ago that he was engaged to Allison, I couldn´t wait to meet her. After a brief meeting back in April when I passed through their hometown of Sebastopol, I knew that Keith had met an amazing woman. But it was their trip up to Tuolumne last week where we really got to spend some time together, and shoot their engagement photos, where I truly got to see how special Allison really is. I really couldn´t have expected anything less with Keith being one of the most beautiful people I know. I´m so excited for the two of them.

While in Yosemite last week, I got together with Brian and Schuyler to get some great photos of them in love. They were helping me get some footage for a new promo short film for my business, by allowing our photo shoot to be filmed. Ron Dawson flew out to work with me on an inspirational short film, and Brian and Schuyler were gracious enough to help us out. We had a great time and even forgot that we were being filmed.
Along the way I couldn´t help but notice how nice it was for them to take some time out of their everyday lives, and spend some time together just looking into each others eyes, taking in all the beauty around them, and just slowing down and appreciating it all. Their wedding was in Maine 3 years ago, and even though they live in Yosemite, we hadn´t got some images of the two of them In Love in Yosemite.
Schuyler even mentioned how when I shot their wedding, that some of the most special pictures to her were of their first day together as a married couple. The day after their wedding we got images of them and all their friends hanging out, relaxing, and basking in the glory of being married with no stress associated with planning their wedding. There was no plans, nowhere to be, and a natural organic unfolding of the day that we captured in images, and has become very special to Brian and Schuyler. All these memories flooded back as we shot in El Cap Meadow when it hit me; I need to offer this to more people.
Why should you only get pictures with the person you love when its an engagement shoot, or on your wedding day? Why not come up to Yosemite and other beautiful places in the Sierra with your special someone and get some magical images to document your love anytime. Well now you can. It might be an anniversary, a birthday, or a yearly trip to the mountains…. or it might be just because. Whatever your reason, lets be in touch and set something up so you can have images with your special someone that you can cherish forever. You deserve it.

Friday night I went down to meet up with my dear friends Sarah Hodzic, Jessica Del Vecchio, and Kip Pierson in Washington DC, and we ended up at a really cool restaurant called Sonoma for dinner. The four of us are professional wedding photographers, so of course we had been shooting all day and having a blast.
Well, upon getting to the restaurant, Kip was informed by the hostess who he knows, that there was a couple in the corner, and the man was going to propose to the woman that night. They had their first date there 5 months prior, so it was a special place for them, and little did they know there was four wedding photographers just a few tables away with the inside scoop, and cameras ready. At one point Sarah says, "Its Happening!!!", and we all turn around and try to ran some shots as slyly as possible.
Well after dinner we introduced ourselves to them, told them we had a little bird tell us what was going on, and had gotten some great pictures for them of the actual proposal. We then all proceeded to have an impromptu engagement shoot up stairs and outside in the biggest snowstorm in years.
Meg and Matt, congratulations on your engagement, and thank you so much for having fun with us. I wish you the best for your wedding, and I hope you love your images!! Hope you´re having a wonderful day!

Jillian and Mark met me in Yosemite for a wonderful rainy day engagement shoot this past October. It was a wonderful day for photography with soft light and a warm feel by the fire. It was snowing hard in the higher elevations, and we were so fortunate to have the Ahwahnee to keep coming in to to warm up.

Brooke and Andrew came up to Mammoth Lakes recently to get their engagement photos done with me. They actually got engaged in Mammoth, so it was very special for them. We had a gorgeous day with nice cloud cover which gave us a very soft, nice light. They have a wonderful energy together which was a joy to capture images of.

Kelly and Chuck had a super fun wedding at Convict Lake last month. We met a few days ahead to shoot some Engagement photos, on a gorgeous afternoon. They have an amazing connection, and it was such a joy to capture moments and memories for them.
It was so nice to hang out and get to know each other a bit before the wedding. I love when my couples get to do an engagement session with me, because it makes the wedding go so much smoother since they´re more used to being in front of the camera, and we´ve gotten to know each other a bit. I think it really helps the wedding photos come out much more natural.
Kelly and Chuck, I hope you love your photos, and I should be posting you wedding photos up hopefully later tonight!! So check back soon.
