Hi friends! Recently I shared a conversation with Jacob Nawrocki of Operation Reset, a podcast to help people find a reset in their lives. This has been my most personal and vulnerable interview thus far, and I am so happy to share it with you. We talked about all kinds of things from photography and timelapse, to nature and energy, to Oneness and spirituality. So perhaps make a cup of tea and sit down with some candles, and I hope you enjoy.

Hi friends! I´m so excited to share with you an all new website that is a collaboration between my dear friend Kirsi Ranto and I. I have always known that my mission in life is to spread love, and when Kirsi and I met, we realized that we both share the same mission. I believe art is a very powerful way to raise consciousness, and open our hearts to unconditional love. That´s how Oneness Mission was born.
Oneness Mission is a global movement sharing beauty, love and light through visuals, music and writings. It is created by myself as a visual artist and musician, and Kirsi as a music artist, writer and founder of the Be The Light You Are method, a tool of the heart for self discovery and awareness.
Our mission is based on our heart’s desire to be one with Love, to be of service, and to live true our highest visions of ourselves. We started to work together during the spring of 2012 and realized immediately that we shared the same mission. So we started our cooperation by creating two films: The Essence of Kirsi Ranto ღ Deepthi and An Evening with Deepthi.
I really hope you’ll love it as much we have loved this journey while making our dream come true with this mission!

After spending a little time around Arthur´s Pass National Park and down on the West Coast near Greymouth and Paparoa National Park, I headed to the gorgeous and quaint seaside town of Kaikoura. This is truly one of the most stunning areas I have ever seen. I reunited with my friend Shan, who I met in the Sierra when he was traveling in California about 5 years ago. Shan is a local Māori, and is about the most welcoming, hospitable, generous, warm, and fun loving person you could ever imagine hanging out with. He gave me the locals tour of Kaikoura, and also cooked me some of the most amazing meals I´ve had on the trip so far. Kaikoura is known for its marine life and delicious seafood, and it didn´t disappoint. I´ve gotten some of my favorite shots of the trip so far in Kaikoura, with the moonrise over the ocean below being one of my favorite all time photos. It was a magical night followed by the best sunrise of the trip so far, where the sky lit up with deep reds and was reflected in the tidal pools just off the Kaikoura Peninsula. Next up will be a post about the West Coast of New Zealand, with it´s magical rain forests, towering glacial peaks, and fairytale like trees, so check back soon!
In addition to just taking some time for myself and reconnecting with nature and my higher self, a huge part of my time here in New Zealand is shooting timelapse and still photography. I want to share a few behind the scenes shots showing some of the gear and people that are making this magical journey so rewarding.

Shooting timelapse has become an absolute passion for me, as it allows me to capture the beauty of this dramatic landscape I live in and really bring it to life. Please watch my latest work "Yosemite Range of Light". I created this piece to show the beauty and awe of Yosemite National Park and the High & Eastern Sierra. It is also meant to be a reel of my best work. If you are looking for footage to license, or would like to contract me to shoot a project for you, please be in touch.
Yosemite, the High Sierra, and the Eastern Sierra are some of the most beautiful places on earth. Ever since I serendipitously won a trip to Yosemite when I was 18, the beautiful Range of Light has captured my heart and become my home. Nothing brings me more joy than to share this life changing beauty with others. Ever since I became fascinated with timelapse photography almost 2 years ago, I’ve wanted to do a piece on Yosemite & the Sierra. Now after almost two years of shooting, I´m thrilled to share it with you. I hope you enjoy my vision of my home, the majestic Yosemite & Sierra. Best viewed Full Screen with Sound.

I have been in New Zealand just over a week now, and it has already been one of the most incredible trips of my life. My very first day, I had no idea where I would go or what I would do, but in a spontaneous decision I decided to drive from Christchurch straight for the mountains of Arthur´s Pass. On the way I passed by a place I have been wanting to visit for a long time, Castle Hill. Right away I met 2 other travelers who I instantly clicked with, Ella and Beeri; two best friends who have grown up together from Israel. They invited me to camp with them that night, and we made dinner together and enjoyed a beautiful evening. The next morning they told me they were going to go for a 2 day backpacking trip up Avalanche Peak and down into the Crow River Valley, and asked me if I would like to join them. In under an hour I had my bag packed and we were off. I had no idea the tramp (New Zealand´s term for hike) would gain 1100 meters pretty much straight up. Needless to say I got my but kicked after having just arrived and not being in backpacking shape, but the views and experience were more than worth it. It was one of the most beautiful tramps I´ve ever done, and Ella and Beeri were amazing company.
As part of this journey I am going to try and share my experiences through video as much as possible in addition to the images I share. Here´s my first installment :)

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to go shoot in Big Sur again, one of my favorite sections of coast I´ve ever experienced. I was working on a secret shoot with Tom Lowe´s Dreamcore Productions, and got some wonderful experience with the RED Epic camera and operating a Kessler Crane. Of course I had to shoot some stills and time-lapse as well! We were stoked to get some really nice sunsets, and as always its amazing to shoot the ocean after spending so much time in the mountains and desert.
Last year in May I also got to shoot Big Sur, and just like last year I had a couple of Canon´s Tilt Shift lenses with me, the 17TS and the 24TS. Shooting Tilt Shift is very challenging and constantly makes me have to really focus on my composition and focus, and pay extra attention to composition. I love this challenge. I must also note that beside being able to shoot Tilt and Shift with these lenses, that they make insanely sharp primes. All the images above that have no Tilt or Shift in them were taken with the same 2 lenses. Canon´s 17TS is absolutely one of my favorite all time lenses, and is always a treat to have around when I rent it from LensProToGo.com. I encourage you to check it out sometime!

I hope you enjoy this beautiful short film capturing of the essence of Kirsi Ranto, a lovely musical artist from Jalasjärvi, Finland. Kirsi and I both love to spread love through our art, so to be able to synergize together and combine my visuals with her music, and share this with you is a dream come true.
I am so excited to share this special project with you. It is something that is very dear to my heart, and has been one of the most life changing experiences I have ever had. About 7 months ago, Kirsi reached out to me on Facebook after seeing my short film Yosemite Range of Light. Right away we both realized that we have the same mission in life, to spread love. So we decided to dream up a project together. I had been wanting to do a short film for quite some time that captured the essence of an artist, and after hearing Kirsi´s beautiful music, and realizing her life mission is so similar to mine, I knew she was the perfect one to synergize with.
The process of bringing this to life has been one of the most rewarding, enriching, growing experiences of my entire life, and has truly helped me step into the next chapter of my life; both as an artist and a human. When Kirsi and I first started woking on this project, we didn´t have plans or expectations, but we knew that if we just got together it would all work out. We quickly found that something magical happens when we come together and open up to the universe to allow love to flow through us. We both genuinely want to share love with the world, and when two souls connect with such genuine, pure intentions, I believe there are no limits.
Kirsi is one of the most talented musical arrests I have ever met. While her work has been widely known in her home country of Finland for almost 15 years, once I heard her beautiful voice and magical songs, I knew I wanted to help introduce her to a wider audience. It just so happened that while I was in Finland filming with her, that she wrote her first song in English. One morning she just had to go be with her piano, because a song was coming to her. About an hour later, Be The Light You Are was born, and the live version you will see performed in this film was shot and recorded that same evening.
The other song performed is Fields of New Light. When you see Kirsi playing in that golden field that just happens to be right next to where she grew up, I want you to know that she was improvising on the spot, and we were recording live in the field! Even though she had never played that song before, it is so beautiful and sounds like it has been played countless times before, I love it. So there´s no dubbing in this film, all the music you see was performed and recorded live, which makes it so special.
Please share this with anyone that you feel will appreciate Kirsi´s heartfelt music, and our message of love for the world! We hope you enjoy :)
